1. What ECOS is

ECOS is a free visualization tool that represents, on a 3D map, radio-frequency signals (WiFi and Bluetooth) present in the user's environment, from data provided by the user's own device, either through the browser or through an optional ECOS program for Windows, Android or Linux (the "Software").

ECOS is an informational, experimental tool. It is not a certified measurement instrument, nor a security, surveillance, alarm, navigation or people-location system, nor a medical device.

2. Approximate nature of the information

Distances, positions, floors, coverage levels, movement detection, estimated people and any other estimate shown by ECOS are approximate and may contain significant errors. They are computed from signal strength and simplified models, affected by walls, reflections, interference and hardware limitations.

In particular, "estimated people" are probabilistic inferences: ECOS may show people who are not there or fail to show people who are, and it does not identify anyone. The percentage shown is an internal reference of the tool, not a guaranteed probability.

You must not make important decisions — regarding safety, health, legal, financial, emergency or any other critical matter — based on the information shown by ECOS. You use it for guidance only and at your sole responsibility.

3. Acceptable use and user responsibility

You agree to use ECOS only lawfully, in your own space or in spaces where you are authorized, and respecting the rights of others.

• You are solely responsible for complying with the laws and regulations applicable in your jurisdiction, including rules on privacy, personal-data protection, telecommunications and interception of communications.
• You may not use ECOS to surveil, track, profile, identify or follow people without their knowledge and consent, nor to harass, intimidate or harm anyone. If other people share your space, it is your responsibility to inform them.
• ECOS only represents signals that devices broadcast publicly. You must not attempt to use the tool to identify or locate individuals.
• You may not use ECOS for any unlawful purpose, nor to interfere with, breach or access without authorization networks, systems or devices that are not yours.

4. Permissions and optional Software

The web version runs in the browser without installing anything and uses standard features (such as Web Bluetooth) that are only enabled if you grant the corresponding permission. To measure your connection it makes small requests to the site itself.

Downloading and installing the Software is optional and your decision. The Software runs only on your device: it listens to WiFi and Bluetooth signals without connecting to other people's devices and only communicates with the ECOS page open on that same device. Any permissions it requires (for example, location or nearby devices, which the operating system requires in order to list networks) are requested and managed by your operating system, and you can revoke them at any time.

The Software is distributed without a third-party digital signature, so your operating system may show warnings when running it. You install it at your own risk, on devices you are entitled to install it on. You can uninstall it at any time from your operating system settings.

5. No warranties

The Service, including the Software, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — without limitation — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, compatibility with your hardware or operating system, continuity, availability or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or fault-free.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FUNGIRAK Studio, its owners, contributors and providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages — including damage to equipment, loss of data, profits or opportunities — arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, the installation or execution of the Software, or decisions made based on the information shown.

In particular, we assume no responsibility for the use the user makes of the tool, nor for the user's failure to comply with applicable laws. The user is solely responsible for such use.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold FUNGIRAK Studio harmless from any claim, demand, penalty, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights or the law.

8. Intellectual property and license

ECOS, its name, brand, logo, design, interface, code and Software are owned by FUNGIRAK Studio and protected by intellectual-property laws. You are granted a limited, personal, free, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the Service and install the Software on your own devices for lawful purposes. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, modify, decompile or create derivative works of the Service or the Software without authorization, except to the extent expressly permitted by law.

Windows, Android, Linux, Bluetooth, WiFi and other marks mentioned belong to their respective owners. ECOS is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

9. Privacy

Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Changes, availability and termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the Service or the Software, in whole or in part, and revoke the license at any time and without notice. We may also update these Terms; the version in force is the one published on this page, with its last-updated date. Continued use of the Service implies acceptance of the Terms in force. If you no longer accept them, you must stop using the Service and uninstall the Software.

11. Minimum age

The Service is intended for people who can enter into a binding contract under their law. If you are a minor, use it only under the supervision of a responsible adult.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of the operator's domicile, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights granted to you where you reside. If any clause is held invalid, the rest remain in force.
