ECOS — the 3D map of the waves around you

WiFi and Bluetooth waves bounce off everything around you. ECOS listens to them and shows you, in 3D, the devices, networks, coverage and movement in your space, placed inside your own building.

It runs right in the browser, on phone, tablet and desktop, with nothing to install: ECOS asks the browser for the permissions it needs (like Bluetooth) and measures your WiFi connection from the page itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is ECOS?
ECOS is a free web tool that shows, on a 3D map, the Bluetooth signals around you and the quality of your WiFi, room by room, inside your own place.
Do I need to install anything?
No. ECOS runs in the browser. If you also want to see every WiFi network around you, the page detects your system and offers an optional single-file program for Windows, Android or Linux.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes: Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux. Web Bluetooth is available in Chrome, Edge, Opera and Samsung Internet (Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS). On iPhone/iPad Apple doesn't enable it for web pages, but WiFi measurement, the floor plan and coverage work the same.
Why can't I see the WiFi networks around me?
For security, no browser lets a web page list WiFi networks. That is what the optional full scan is for (Windows, Android and Linux). It is not possible on iPhone or Mac: Apple does not allow it.
Does ECOS spy on me or store my data?
No. What you sense is processed on your device; the site doesn't collect it. Data is only uploaded if you create a share link.
Can it detect people?
It detects motion from how bodies disturb the signal of nearby Bluetooth devices. It doesn't see bodies or identify anyone.
